The Pitch

Elevated Living started as a fitness app that provides on-demand fitness instruction in various luxury residential buildings in Chicago - which Redvike helped develop. Eventually, the client saw great potential in proptech, which is the use of technology and software assistance in real-estate, and therefore decided to expand the fitness app into a larger project. For that, they turned again to Redvike, who was tasked with the development of a new, entirely different mobile app, as well as a rebranding of the client’s web app.

  • The goal was for Elevated Living to become a platform for property management: managing buildings, events, maintenance, service orders, and other resident needs fulfillment.
  • Redvike had to create a new, branded application where each building/apartment complex could have its own application and own logo. Separate applications had to be developed for Appstore and Playstore.
  • The biggest challenge was creating the architecture of a separate solution which would manage all applications of different buildings. This was required to be able to quickly release changes and updates in the applications.

The Process

Due to the large scope of the project, we arranged with the client to deliver new functionalities in stages.
The most important aspect was the establishment of a new role of property manager in the web application.
The property manager is the administrative head of the building who would be able to manage and configure building events, resident notifications, architecture management, payment management,
building service management, etc.

The App

Initially, we developed the app to allow the property managers access to the calendar and notifications. In the last 3 years, new functionalities have been added regularly, and we are constantly developing the app in close cooperation with the client. Some of the new functionalities would include:

  • Building essentials i.e. building-related features such as: administration, parking, legal queries, as well as all residential matters.
  • Listing of restaurants and services in the surrounding area. Additionally, businesses can advertise their services in the application and offer residents things like discounts on Uber, discounts on restaurants, etc.
  • On-site services for residents – residents can order various types of service through the mobile application such as: repairs in the apartment, plumber, dog walks, massages, TV assembly, removals, etc.
  • Push Notifications – residents can receive notifications from the building manager concerning information about promotions, ongoing / planned renovations, events, etc.

The Result

The grueling development project produced a unified proptech platform for property management and community engagement. The resulting app has been a huge success - the client has managed to acquire 100 buildings in the Chicago area alone! Given the positive feedback from residents and property managers, the client plans to scale and expand into more residential buildings. Furthermore, Redvike will continue developing new functionalities and features to be included in the web and mobile app.

  • Aside from the addition of a property manager role, the new web app also includes a “front desk” feature - the property manager and lobby employees can check guest permissions based on pre-approval from residents.
  • A new feature regulates package management - lobby employees collect, scan parcels for residents, and send arrival notifications to them via the app.

Redvike is helping take us to the next level by transforming into a tech company. They put a marked effort into communicating responsively and thoroughly understanding the client’s business for optimal results.
